Most rowing machines measure one thing, the speed of a flywheel, and calculate everything else from it: force, stroke length, the shape of your curve. The BIOROWER measures your stroke directly, at the oar, on both sides independently.
Angle: High-precision sensors, calibrated to 0.2°, track the exact position of each oar across a 140° measuring range. That covers the machine’s full 127° mechanical range, beyond what any rower can actually use, so no stroke is ever cut off or extrapolated.
Force: Strain gauges on each side are calibrated in 100 N steps up to 1500 N, within ±0.5 N at every step. Well above the peak force of even elite rowers.

The new BIOROWER App: see what matters to you.
At the centre of the screen is your live power curve: force over oar angle, left and right, stroke by stroke. Catch and release angles, stroke length, peak force and power for each side sit right beside it, together with your power balance between left and right.
Above, your session data: time, distance, stroke rate, drive-to-recovery ratio, power, split, distance and energy per stroke. Select the fields you want and deselect the rest, so the screen holds exactly as much information as you need. Keep it minimal to row by feel, or select everything when you’re working on technique.

One app, land and water.
The same app will run with our in-boat oarlock sensors, now in development. That’s why it’s designed for real rowing conditions from the start, whether you train on a river, a lake or open coastal water: clear and readable at a glance, even in bright sunlight, and simple to operate with wet hands and a moving boat. What you learn on the BIOROWER, you’ll see in the same way on the water.
Four facts
Better technique. Faster boat. Live feedback on your stroke length, power balance and performance shows the effect of every change the moment you make it. That makes it easy to build exactly the stroke you want, and take it onto the water.
Row as one. Not just look like one. No two rowers are built alike, so a crew that moves identically won’t necessarily push the boat identically. The BIOROWER shows what really counts: matched force curves, matched stroke lengths, the same power distribution, every rower accelerating the boat together.
Train apart. Row together. Crew members training in different cities can compare their technique under boat-like conditions, stroke for stroke. By the time you meet on the water, your styles are already in sync.
